Early December 2011 - Weekend Trip

In early December, our Foreign Affairs Office, in our school, sponsored a trip for all the foreign teachers to see a little bit of the country side in the Jiangsu province.  Below are some pictures along with quick captions of what they represented.  We hope you enjoy seeing a little more of China.

First we visited Huaxi Village which is considered to be the wealthiest village in all of China.  The skyscraper below is about 72 stories high and we had lunch on the 70th floor, overlooking the city. It was a revolving restaurant which took some time for me getting use too.

Trey on the far left and many of the foreign affairs officers and their families.  It was a great time building relationship with the staff.

This is just a small part of Huaxi Village.  All of the houses were constructed the same but you see very few neighborhoods like this.  Most people live in apartment high rises.

We went to this vegetable green house in which most vegetables were growing from the ceiling.  It was amazing to see all the different vegetables and how they were growing.

Trey and a couple of the FAO's daugthers.  He's always posing.

The picture below is at the top of a small mountain in Nantong overlooking a small part of the city and the Yangtze River.  It is one large river.
